CONTRAINDICATIONS / RESTRICTIONS

Permanent Makeup (PMU) is a cosmetic tattooing procedure. While safe when performed by a trained professional, not everyone is an ideal candidate. To protect your health and ensure the best possible results, please carefully review the following contraindications and restrictions:

ABSOLUTE CONTRAINDICATIONS​

You are NOT a candidate for PMU if you:

​​

  • Are pregnant or breastfeeding

  • Are under the age of 18

  • Have active skin conditions at or near the treatment area (eczema, psoriasis, rashes, acne, open wounds, etc.)

  • Have a history of keloid or hypertrophic scarring

  • Have hemophilia or blood clotting disorders

  • Are currently undergoing chemotherapy or radiation

  • Have uncontrolled diabetes or other serious medical conditions that impair healing

  • Have viral/bacterial infections (cold sores, shingles, COVID-19, HIV, hepatitis, etc.)

  • Are under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time of the procedure

Relative Contraindications / Restrictions

PMU may be possible with a doctor’s clearance or if certain precautions are followed:

​

  • If you have diabetes (must be well-controlled)

  • If you are taking blood-thinning medications (Aspirin, Coumadin, Plavix, etc.)

  • If you are taking medications that affect healing (steroids, Accutane, Retin-A, etc.)

  • If you have high blood pressure or heart conditions

  • If you have epilepsy or seizures

  • If you have autoimmune conditions (Lupus, MS, etc.)

  • If you have had Botox, fillers, chemical peels, microneedling, or laser treatments in the brow/eye/lip area within the last 4–6 weeks

Temporary Restrictions

You must wait until fully healed or cleared if you:

​

  • Have had recent sunburn or tanning in the treatment area

  • Have had recent surgery near the treatment site

  • Have a cold sore outbreak (lip PMU clients must be outbreak-free and may need an antiviral prescription)

  • Have used blood-thinning substances (alcohol, caffeine, ibuprofen, certain supplements) within 24 hours of the procedure

Kindly note that if any of these policies aren’t followed and we’re unable to proceed on the day of your appointment,

it will be considered a No-Show, and the No-Show fee will apply. Thank you so much for your understanding and cooperation! 

A $50 deposit is required to book your appointment & will be applied towards the total cost of your service

Deposits are non-transferable if you cancel within 72 hours of your appointment. 

Payment will be collected in the studio after your appointment. 

Deposits are non-refundable unless otherwise stated.
